One of the famous buildings on the street is the House Siola Tunjungan. Before becoming Siola Stores, this building was used as a British department store named "WHITEAWAY". In the year 1940 is used to sell imported goods from Japan, its name changed to "TOKO CHIYODA". Although amended several times instead of the front face, now Siola Building is still a land marker for the environment around the road Tunjungan.
This blog consists of a collection of photographs, old postcards and info from the land of Java & Surabaya tempo doloe, which I got from various sources. Figure is the result of photos and scans from books and magazines are not sold on the market. The main purpose of this blog just to share and warn about the existence of Java tempoe Doloe.

Railway stations in Surabaya (1928)

Ants train station. But how better than current conditions. Frankly this is great, where the remaining infrastructure like this, it does not appear anymore.

The steam locomotive that ever existed in the dipo Sidotopo macam2 model. Een Stoomtram van de Oost-Java Stoomtram Mij

Tram trains passing through the path SS (staat spoorweg) make long-distance trains.
Building big - this big in years before 1900 (because there was steam tram) there is only the old city area surabaya, red bridge area and the surrounding plaza, there are many tram lines are near the buildings.
