Roads and buildings Tunjungan Siola


One of the famous buildings on the street is the House Siola Tunjungan. Before becoming Siola Stores, this building was used as a British department store named "WHITEAWAY". In the year 1940 is used to sell imported goods from Japan, its name changed to "TOKO CHIYODA". Although amended several times instead of the front face, now Siola Building is still a land marker for the environment around the road Tunjungan.

One is the building of shops and restaurants "HELLENDORN" Jalan Kenari and street corner Tunjungan.
Designees were Ir. Th. Van Oyen.
Stores Nam Unfortunately this also own the building has been demolished around 1990.

Tunjungan crossroads


Tunjungan road since the early 20th century has been one of the commercial center of the city of  Surabaya. This road is a connecting road that once the main shopping area in Surabaya. Derah road connecting the housing next to the East and South-West of Surabaya (Gubeng, Darmo, Ketabang and Sawahan), with a trade area around the existing Red Bridge.
In the 1930s established the main shopping complex in Surabaya with concrete buildings and modern architectural styles. At the junction of Road and Road Tunjungan Embong Malang, formerly a building Nam Stores.
